BEFORE YOU START: Please note that although I currently volunteer for both the Stroke Association and Age UK, the views expressed in this blog are strictly my own. I am not a spokesperson for either (or, indeed, for any) organisation. I am based in the UK and the blog therefore has a UK bias - I've tried to use the Glossary to explain any terms which might be ambiguous, but if you think there is anything I've missed, please message me.

So, in common with the rest of the UK, I look outside and see whiteness. We have only had about an inch so far, although the big fall is expected today. The hens haven't seen snow before, they don't like it and have gone back to bed.

  1. Lunchtime, and snow is falling. Nothing spectacular, no blizzards, but equally it is just piling on the snow we've already had.

  2. Day 2. About 6". Two of the hens just stayed in the coop, where we gave them fresh food and wter. The other two came to the back door. We let them in the house to get warm - they promptly shat on the carpet.
